With Diwali and Chhath Puja just over 90 days away, trains from Mumbai and Delhi to Gorakhpur are already fully booked for the festive season. Trains to Gorakhpur from Mumbai and Delhi are packed from October 20th, while trains from Gorakhpur to Mumbai and Delhi are fully booked until November 18th....

The waiting list for most trains exceeds 100, making confirmation unlikely. The most crowded trains are those from Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Bengaluru. Popular trains like Gorakhdham, Vaishali, Saptakranti, Bihar Sampark Kranti, LTT Special, and Kushinagar Special are completely booked. Airfares have tripled for the festive season, with flights from Delhi or Mumbai to Gorakhpur costing between ₹15,000 and ₹20,000. Travelling home for Diwali is a struggle, with private bus tickets becoming more expensive than train first-class AC tickets. Agents in many cities exploit this situation, charging four to five times the regular price for bus tickets just before Diwali.

Gorakhdham, Vaishali, Saptakranti, Bihar Sampark Kranti, LTT Special, aur Kushinagar Special jaise popular trains mein sabhi seats bhar chuki hain. Diwali mein ghar aane ke liye airfare teen guna zyada ho gaya hai, jisse Delhi ya Mumbai se Gorakhpur aane ki flight ka kharcha ₹15,000 se ₹20,000 tak hoga. Diwali mein ghar pahunchna ek jung se kam nahi hai, private buses ke tickets train ke first class AC ticket se bhi zyada mehnga ho gaye hain. Kayi shaharon mein agents pravaasioon ki majboori ka fayda uthate hain aur Diwali se ek ya do din pehle buses ke tickets ko char se panch guna damon mein bechte hain.
