and 81 were injured in these 48 accidents. The North Western Railway zone had the highest number of injured with 70 people injured in 2 accidents, but no fatalities. The East Coast Railway had 5 accidents resulting in 3 deaths and 4 injuries. The Eastern Railway had 2 accidents but no casualties. Notably, no accidents were reported in the Kolkata Metro during this period.
