The bridge was initially intended for platform connectivity but was extended to cover the line-crossing area as well, following a request from the Vice Chairman of the Municipal Council, Pale Ram Sharma. The Municipal Council contributed approximately 60 lakh rupees to the project. Railway officials state that the bridge will be fully operational soon, allowing residents of the line-crossing area to access the city without having to enter the railway station.
