Railwaymen (NFIR) has declared its readiness for the polls, with nominations set to be accepted in October. Several unions, including the NFIR, the All India Railwaymen's Federation (AIRF), and the Railway Mazdoor Sangh, are expected to contest the elections. The Railway Board has instructed all unions to clear outstanding dues, including electricity and water bills, before the elections. Failure to comply with this directive will disqualify unions from participating in the elections. It is noteworthy that this is the first union recognition election since 2013.
