Eastern Railway saw a significant increase in freight traffic in August 2024, reaching 7.11 million tonnes, generating revenue of 698.058 crores. The freight revenue during this period was 3,727.624 crores, a 29.71% rise from the previous year. Coal contributed most to Eastern Railway's freight traffic with a 35.17% increase compared to the previous year, reaching 27.353 million tonnes. Other significant contributors include pig iron and semi-finished steel, iron ore, cement, clinker, and food grains.

August 2024 tak, 27.353 million tonnes ki cumulative loading ke saath, coal Eastern Railway ke freight traffic mein sabse zyada contribution deta hai. Isme pichle saal ke muqable 35.17% ki badhotri hui hai. Freight traffic ki maatra mein dusre major contributors mein pig iron aur semi-finished steel, iron ore, cement, clinker, aur food grains shamil hain.
