approved a 16-coach prototype in 2018. In 2019, ICF procured propulsion systems and manufactured six coach shells. However, in 2021, the Railways changed the propulsion system design, rendering the previously manufactured components unusable. This resulted in Rs 46 crore worth of materials and six coach shells, costing Rs 8.57 crore, being idled. The CAG report criticized the Ministry for not explaining the reason for the change in the propulsion system, leading to this waste of resources.

Par, 2021 me Railways ne propulsion system ka design change kar diya, jisse pehle banaye gaye components ka koi use nahi raha. Isse 46 crore rupees ka material aur 6 coach shells, jinka cost 8.57 crore rupees tha, unused reh gaye.
