The Railway has increased the maximum speed limit for trains on the Kayamkulam – Ernakulam (via Alappuzha) route to 110 kilometers. However, this speed increase won't result in shorter travel times due to speed restrictions at thirteen locations. Even faster trains like Vandebharat won't see significant time reductions due to frequent...

stops at stations like Haripad, Ambalapuzha, Cherthala, and Thuravoor. While the trains can reach 110 km/h, these stretches are only 15-20 kilometers long, limiting overall speed gains. Loco pilots can't maintain a consistent speed due to speed regulations and frequent stops, affecting the average speed. Passenger associations argue that instead of paper improvements, the focus should be on practical solutions like constructing multi-lane tracks, improving track alignment, and straightening curves to genuinely increase train speed.

Even Vandebharat jaise fast trains bhi Haripad, Ambalapuzha, Cherthala, aur Thuravoor jaise stations pe...

stop karne ki wajah se time save nahin kar payenge. Though trains can reach 110 km/h, yeh speed only 15-20 kilometers tak maintain hoti hai. Loco pilots speed restrictions aur frequent stops ki wajah se consistent speed nahin maintain kar paate, jisse average speed pe asar padta hai. Passengers associations ka kehna hai ki paper pe improvements ki jagah practical solutions pe focus karna chahiye, jaise multi-lane tracks banana, track alignment improve karna, aur curves ko straight karna, taaki train ki speed actually increase ho.
