This initiative aims to make quality medicines and consumables accessible to all at affordable prices. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will virtually inaugurate these outlets, including the one at Tiruchi Junction, on March 12th. Furthermore, two new goods sheds at Pattukottai and Thiruthuraipoondi stations under the Tiruchi Division will be dedicated to the nation by the Prime Minister. The goods shed at Pattukottai, costing ₹6.8 crore, began loading grain in February 2023, while the Thiruthuraipoondi goods shed, costing ₹7 crore, commenced loading in November 2023. Finally, the Prime Minister will inaugurate One Station One Product (OSOP) stalls at various railway stations across the country. In Tiruchi Division, 60 OSOPs are currently operational in 44 stations, including Tiruchi Junction, Thanjavur, Villupuram, Kumbakonam, Tiruvarur, Mayiladuthurai, Puducherry, Mannargudi, Cuddalore Port Junction, Tiruvannamalai, Karaikal, Chidambaram, Tiruchi Fort, Vriddhachalam, Ariyalur, and Pattukottai. The OSOP scheme promotes local and indigenous products while creating income opportunities for marginalized communities.
