It would provide a vital rail link for the region, facilitating transportation of goods and agricultural produce. The project's execution has been stalled, and land acquisition for the rail line remains incomplete. The proposed line will start from Jagadhri Workshop railway station in Yamunanagar, connecting to the Delhi-Ambala railway line at Karnal station. It will also serve as a feeder route for the Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor and include an interchange point at the Kalanor station in Yamunanagar.
