This initiative will enhance both passenger and freight services. Mendipathar, Meghalaya's only railway station, was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2014 and became operational. The station has recently received electric train services following the completion of electrification works. These new routes are expected to further integrate the Northeast into national and international transport networks.

Is initiative se passenger aur freight services dono ko benefit milega. Meghalaya ka akele railway station Mendipathar, 2014 mein Prime Minister Narendra Modi dwara inaugurated kiya gaya tha aur operational ho gaya tha. Station ko recently electric train services mil gayi hai, electrification works complete hone ke baad. In new routes se Northeast ko national aur international transport networks mein further integrate karne ki ummid hai.
