The remaining stretch to be completed on the East-West alignment is the Esplanade-Sealdah segment, which is expected to be operational by June-July 2024. The Salt Lake Sector V to Sealdah stretch of the East-West Metro corridor and the 6.5 km Joka to Taratala segment of the Joka-Esplanade project are already operational. The Kavi Subhash-Hemanta Mukhopadhyay section, covering 5.4 km of the Kavi Subhash-Airport metro line, will also commence commercial operations soon.
