The RPF, using CCTV footage and advanced technology, tracked down Manoj Kumar on July 26th, 2024, on the 4121 Secunderabad Special train. He confessed to the crime, revealing that he used Ativan 2mg tablets to sedate passengers and steal their belongings. He was found in possession of Ativan tablets, various other medications, two mobile phones, ₹2100 cash, and travel tickets. The project was formally inaugurated by the then Railway Minister Piyush Goyal in October 2018, just before the state assembly elections. However, after the Congress government came to power in the state, the project was stalled. With the BJP's return to power, the state government has now deposited its share of funds, paving the way for the project to resume. The project spans 294.59 kilometers and will include 25 stations, with major stops at Katghora, Ratanpur, Mungeli, Kawardha, and Khairagarh.
