The launch of Vande Bharat Express service on the Ernakulam-Bengaluru route has been delayed due to various reasons, including a shortage of platforms at railway stations in Bengaluru, according to railway officials. be running the train between Kottayam and Baiyyapanahalli, considering the lack of platforms at Ernakulam Junction and KSR Bengaluru. While a full-fledged service launch might coincide with the Onam holiday season, the timings and stops are yet to be finalized pending the allocation of a new rake. Passengers' groups are advocating for a 16-coach Vande Bharat rake and a sleeper variant to cater to the growing demand. However, railway sources cite concerns over maintenance facilities and the impact on short-distance trains if a new daily Vande Bharat service is introduced.

Vande Bharat Express service Ernakulam-Bengaluru route pe start hone mein delay ho raha hai, reason hai Bengaluru ke railway stations pe platforms ki kami. Commuters demand kar rahe hai ki atleast ek Vande Bharat rake is route pe chale. Ek possibility hai ki train Kottayam aur Baiyyapanahalli ke beech chale, Ernakulam...

No news abt it. Guess TT issue may be the reason coz Madurai peoples are opposing for route via TPJ so it is on hold but not sure abt the exact reason.

Useful Agree
No less quota issue. We don't need it via TPJ and it is extra travel time for us and have to pay more. If needed they can give separate VB for both else operate this VB from TPJ itself, MDU doesn't need a VB like this with too early departure. Why we should pay extra for a circuitous route and if this VB gets inaugurated as such then it's a total waste for Madurai. Hope Railways will think and proceed. Let's see.

Agree with the cost issue though

Travel time won't be more than 45-50 mins extra I think
TPJ-DG easily in 50 mins for a VB
