They were finally deboarded at Chengalpattu Junction and detained in a community hall. The farmers suspect this was a deliberate attempt to obstruct their journey. Railway officials claimed the S1 coach was disconnected at Kanniyakumari due to a technical snag, leading to the cancellation of the farmers' tickets. However, they managed to allocate some confirmed and RAC seats.
