The line is estimated to cost ₹1,382.78 crore (as of 2013), with the central and state governments sharing the cost equally. The project requires 1,723 acres of land and will span 142 kilometers. Annasaheb also expressed concern over the alleged misappropriation of ₹11,000 crore meant for SC/ST communities, questioning the silence of MLA Narendra Swamy who is a member of the house committee.
