Visakhapatnam Kakinada MEMU is overtaken by Godavari at Hamsavaram 104km from Vskp though they leave at 15mins interval. MeMU has 10 stops while Godavari 5 stops. MEMU being only 8 coaches with faster pickup from halts is able to cover distance in 2hr 05 mins and with overtake is able to reach Samalkot at 825 35mins before time in 3hrs 20 mins for 150km. This shows that if signals are given fully even MEMU can run like express with 110kmph with an avg 50kmph

But there are few MEMU trains in other zones like 09085 BVI BL which reaches Valsad on time but are always 10-15 minutes late enroute at stations like Virar, Dahanu Road. No OT by any train because next train 09159 BDTS VAPI is ~ 2 hours after 09085.
