Extending the service to Kozhikode, which is already well-connected to Bengaluru by other trains, would create additional demand for seats, making it difficult for Karnataka passengers to secure them. Rao pointed out that the extension would also reduce the availability of reserved berths on the train as unreserved coaches would be occupied by passengers travelling between Kannur and Kozhikode. He requested the Railway Ministry to reconsider the extension and retain the existing train services.

Service ko Kozhikode tak extend karne se, jahan pehle se hi Bengaluru se accha connectivity hai, seats ki extra demand ban jaayegi, jisse Karnataka ke passengers ke liye seats secure karna mushkil ho jaayega. Rao ne point kiya ki extension se train mein reserved berths ki availability bhi kam ho jaayegi, kyunki unreserved coaches ko Kannur aur Kozhikode ke beech travel karne wale passengers occupy kar lenge. The train initially ran between Yeshwantpur and Mangaluru Central before being extended to Kannur in 2009. The extension to Kozhikode will occur under the existing timetable, with Train No. 16511 reaching Kozhikode at 12:40 PM and Train No. 16512 departing at 3:30 PM. How many times you have travelled from/ to MAJN? You seem to claim that MAJN is a fantastic station.
Nothing prevents SR PGT to introduce a new train from anywhere in Kerala to Bangalore via Hassan. But spoiling the only night train connecting Mangalore with it's state capital is not acceptable.

I was refering in general. All I was talking that majn is at great location for a satellite station, unlike KCVL for TVC which is less accessible. MAJN certainly needs more development.

I worked there till 2 years back.
