mangaluru central station likely to come under SWR ,RB APPROVED in 2004 only Gazette notification is pending from ministry of Railway ಕರಾವಳಿಗೆ ಗೊತ್ತೇ ಇರದ ಸಂಗತಿಯೊಂದು ಬೆಳಕಿಗೆ ಬಂದಿದ್ದು ,ಅಟಲ್ ಬಿಹಾರಿ ವಾಜಪೇಯಿ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲೇ ಮಂಗಳೂರು ಸೆಂಟ್ರಲ್ ನಿಲ್ದಾಣವನ್ನು ಕೇರಳದಿಂದ ಬೇರ್ಪಡಿಸಿ ನೈರುತ್ಯ ರೈಲ್ವೆಗೆ ಜೋಡಿಸಲು ರೈಲ್ವೇ ಸಚಿವಾಲಯ ಆದೇಶಿಸಿತ್ತು .
ವಿಪರ್ಯಾಸವೆಂದರೆ ಹತ್ತು ವರ್ಷ ಯಾರೂ ಈ ಮಹತ್ವದ ಸಂಗತಿಯನ್ನು ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕರಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸದೇ ಇದ್ದದ್ದು !!!!!!!
ಮತ್ತೆ ಸದಾನಂದ ಗೌಡರ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲೂ ಸ್ವತ ನೈರುತ್ಯ ರೈಲ್ವೆ ಮಂಗಳೂರನ್ನು ಬಿಡಿಸಿ ಕೊಡಲು ಸಚಿವಾಲಯಕ್ಕೆ ಪತ್ರ ಬರೆದಿತ್ತು ,ಸದಾನಂದ ಗೌಡರು ಕೇವಲ ಗೆಜೆಟ್ ನೊಟಿಪಿಕೆಷನ್ ಮಾಡಿದರೆ ಸಾಕಿತ್ತು ಈ ಕೆಲಸ ಆಗಿ ಹೋಗಿರುತಿತ್ತು .

ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ರೈಲಿನ ಸೇವೆ ಸುಲಭವಾಗಿ ಸಿಗುವಂತಾಗುತಿತ್ತು .

ಈಗ ಹೊಸ ಸರ್ಕಾರದ ಮುಂದಿರುವ ಈ ಸುಲಭ ಸರಳ ಕೆಲಸ ,ದಶಕಗಳ ಬೇಡಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಪೂರೈಸಲಿದೆ .
ಕರಾವಳಿಯ ಸಮಸ್ತ ರೈಲ್ವೇ ಸೇವೆಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಕಾಳಜಿಯಿರುವವರ ಮುಂದಿರುವ ಈ ಸರಳ ಸವಾಲು ಸಂಸದರ ಸಹಾಯದಿಂದ ಬಗೆಹರಿಯ ಬೇಕಿದೆ.

You misunderstood my words it seems.. Their was no demand from ppl to merge KR with SWR and CR it was KRs and IR self decision. And if ppl of Goa need separate Division / Zone then no a issue RB can provide them it but if u think it will be feasible to give it? How much km of tracks Goa have excluding Maharastra and Karnataka state.. If one state ppl start demands as per their state land then remaining also follows and here Mangaluru central is not on that lines as it's in Karnataka land so make it in SWR if Karnataka in CR then ppl will be asking to bring it in CR. It's just to make train operations simple and easy. As presently for every thing need to go for SR zone permission and they don't agree suitable train timings which makes improper train operations from...

Karnataka places to Mangaluru so if Mangaluru come in same zone where Karnataka resides then it's bit easy to start or operate convenient trains..
Note: SWR and CR never asked to give them KR.. It's Indian Railways and KR self decision to get merge with two zones as one zone can't handle financial burden what KR have on it..

Vasco Da Gama is one of the important place of Goa so it's under IR (SWR) from initially after taking it from Portugal railways. So KR it's new member which entered league recent and as per the guy who want Goa under CR which makes him think he get good trains then it's his perception. And now it's your perception that as vasco in SWR so if KR comes into SWR then You can get Madgoan trains extend up to vasco but who knows what will be real outcome after your both members perception gets true.. Because after all both can't take decision on their self it's RB which should decide. Presently their is no any CR zone terirtory in goa and SWR have it so guy must be thinking and it's easy for him to tend towards other zone as he already experienced SWR operating issues...

SWR is going for doubling of MAO QLM route after that they will double MAO VSG too. So you can expect new trains too. It's sad there are no passenger trains in Goa connecting VSG in SWR to Canacona in KR or QLM in SWR with Pernem in KR. Looks like KR and SWR dont go hand in hand together. Two zones for big states is ok but for a small one like Goa is bad.
I'm not against KR if KR can absorb QLM VSG route even that is fine for me but in reality that's impossible because SWR is a actual zone unlike KR.

Yes, leaving KR aside, my take on Mangaluru is that it is losing out presently. Needs one daily connection to Hubbali and Mysore and then some long distance trains via Hassan. It has decent infra already but sadly it is not being done.
I feel SR should make a bold decision and move the Division HQ from PGT to MAQ, this will not guarantee more trains but the new HQ at Salem since 2007 has enabled better operations in TN, more localization of jobs etc and many tangible benefits. Labour unions in Kerala will be whimpering, but I think it would be better than the alternative of dissolving PGT division altogether. Also, the headquarters in Palakkad was originally shifted from Coimbatore (Podanur)

SR or more specifically PGT is invested on Panambur like how Vasco is to UBL. And KR-SR contiguity is another positive thing from the present situation for SR.
In my view SR(or if SWR takes over) should first develop Bunder yard with pit lines so that MAQ could be a full-fledged station. Only PF1 has proper amenities and space.
Maintenance of Malabar/Maveli/WC/Mail can be reduced to 4 rakes here since KCVL and MAS are getting a lot of trains LHBfied and can now accommodate additional rakes from elsewhere. Trains like 22635 can be extended to UBL and a new daily to Mysore can also be provided. This can be a serious first step.
SR should wake up and get to work and realize that a very lot is possible. Otherwise Mysore division taking over Mangaluru should be welcomed. And later based on how things turn out, we can think about Karwar to SWR.
