SGNR station
Hi every one here on IRI. I have been visiting this forum from the past two years It has been a lot of fun and loads of information at this website. I have been a frequent traveler through railways. I just dropped my grievance to MoR a few days regarding train facility at SGNR station. The reply from the authorites of NWR was quicker than I expected. I am just posting the whole matter at the forum. Your suggestions are invited.

Description : Dear sir, This grievance is to draw your attention towards the below par rail transportation service for Sri Ganganagar district located in the northern most part of the state of Rajasthan. The district has population of approximately 19 lakhs, which is far more than some of the other major regions of the country. The region is an agriculture hub and contributes substantially in the economy of the state of Rajasthan. However the train services are not adequate for the region. Common man is helpless and compelled to travel by the means of road transportation which is not only costly but also very inadequate from security point of view. In view of this situation I request you to kindly do the needful and introduce the following trains on long pending public demand.
1. Sri Ganganagar- Jodhpur Intercity via Sarupsar, Suratgarh, Bikaner
2. Ferozepur- Bandra Terminus via Fazilka Abohar, Sri Ganganagar.
3. Sri Ganganagar- Katra via Fazilka, Ferozepur, Jalandhar, Amritsar, Jammu Tawi.
4. Sri Ganganagar- Chandigarh via Fazilka, Ferozepur, Ludhiana.
Current Status : CASE CLOSED
Date of Action : 24 Jul 2013
Details : At present there is a limited facility of maintenance of trains and terminal constraint at SGNR will be considered after construction of additional pit line and yard remodling. However, of any train requiring no maintenance at SGNR (regarding item no.2,3,4) is proposed by NR and Railway Board, then it may be considered.
